British far-right activist Tommy Robinson, whose real name is Stephen Christopher Yaxley-Lennon, has been sentenced to prison for 18 months for a range of contempt of court offences. This followed incidents where Robinson filmed individuals involved in ongoing court proceedings, which is not permitted under UK law in order to ensure fair trials. Robinson co-founded the far-right English Defence League and has been involved in numerous high-profile, controversial activities and incidents relating to political extremism.
