A recent study has aimed to shed light on the long-standing mystery surrounding the true origins of explorer Christopher Columbus. For centuries, it has been generally accepted that Columbus hailed from Genoa, Italy. However, some theories suggest he may have actually been Catalan, Portuguese, Greek, or even Polish.
Investigations typically use written documents, oral history, and drawn maps to determine Columbus’s origins. In this particular study, though, a different approach was taken: researchers analyzed the DNA left on Columbus’s
